• Christmas gift ideas for the Baylor Bears in your life

Christmas gift ideasCertainly Christmas is about much more than just presents. But since most of us celebrate at least in part by giving gifts to our friends and family, we thought we’d make a few suggestions of gift ideas (all with Baylor ties) for the Bears in your life.

    * How about a book? Whether you’re looking for fiction or non-fiction, on serious issues or pop culture, chances are there’s a Baylor graduate or professor who’s written something of interest.

    * Perhaps a new CD? There’s classical, pop, praise and worship, and even something for the little ones, all recorded by Baylor folks. And don’t forget the new CD from Baylor’s student-run label, Uproar Records, featuring the work of a number of current students (and now available on iTunes!).

    * DVDs are always popular. American Violet was based on the real-life story of a Baylor Law alum and his professor and is now out on DVD. Or you can choose from one of the many popular films written and/or directed by Baylor graduates: Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves; Wanted; 3:10 to Yuma; and The Rookie. And don’t forget ventriloquist Jeff Dunham’s Comedy Central specials.

    * Looking for something more unusual? Consider purchasing from a Baylor grad’s company and helping others at the same time. How about a water bottle from Pangea Bottles (profits help provide clean water for those in need), or fashion accessories from Raven+Lily (helping women in poverty all over the world)?

    * Then of course, there are plenty of green and gold items that will show your loved ones’ Baylor pride. Both the Baylor Bookstore and BaylorBears.com offer a variety of apparel and novelties for every Bear. And for that hard-to-shop-for loved one? Perhaps an on-campus brick in his or her honor is just what you’ve been looking for.

    Sic ’em, Christmas gift-givers!
