We have much to be thankful for, Baylor Family
It’s that time of year again, when the entire Baylor campus slows down to give students, faculty and staff some much-needed time with family — and much-needed time to thank God for all the ways He has blessed us this year.
From academics to alumni to athletics, we’ve got so much to be thankful for at Baylor over the past year:
We’re thankful for our students, and for the ever-improving academic offering and student experience they enjoy here. For strong teaching and great research opportunities, and for the student organizations that help students find their place of belonging. And for the leaders those students become as they leave to fling their green and gold afar.
We’re thankful for our alumni, who are out doing important things in the world. For Olympic gold medalists and World Series champs and Dove Awards recipients. For those who are out serving, around the world and right here at home. And for those leading in education, whether as college presidents or first-year teachers.
We’re thankful for our professors who are changing the world, both in the classroom and the lab. For faculty breaking new ground with their research, into space exploration and autism therapies and cellular communications.
We’re thankful for our Christian faith, for prayer and worship. For a campus that bears witness to our God. For the opportunity to serve, both others and the Church. And for the opportunity to train future Christian leaders.
We’re thankful for our caring community and how Bears come together to serve, and for the traditions we enjoy together: Diadeloso, Homecoming, Christmas on 5th.
We’re thankful for the joy of athletics. For championships and sustained success, for football’s rebound and our upcoming bowl game, and for Bears who represent us well at the highest levels (NFL, NBA and MLB).
We’re thankful for our beautiful campus — for classics like Tidwell, Collins and Memorial/Alexander, and for new structures like the Hurd Welcome Center and Foster Pavilion.
Last but not least, we’re thankful for what the future holds — for a vision that guides us and reminds us of Baylor’s place in this world.
Though this isn’t a complete list, it’s clear that we have much to be thankful for as Baylor Bears. Together — near and flung afar — let us remember to be thankful through this season.
Sic ’em, Baylor Family!
