Led by new coach Art Briles and freshman quarterback Robert Griffin, Baylor football has earned a good deal of attention this fall from fans and the media, and rightly so. Saturday’s home game against top-ranked Oklahoma (11:40 a.m. kickoff; get tickets or tune into Fox Sports Net’s national broadcast) will be yet another excellent test […]
David Wesley left Baylor 33 hours shy of a degree in 1993 to begin an NBA career that would last 14 seasons with the Nets, Celtics, Hornets, Rockets and Cavaliers. Now he’s back to finish his education — and in his spare time, assist head coach Scott Drew as a student manager. Drew points to […]
In just her third year in the league, WNBA MVP candidate Sophia Young led the San Antonio Silver Stars to the best record in the league and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, which begin tonight. Young finished the regular season averaging 17.5 points (a new career high) and 5.6 rebounds per game, and the former […]
18-year-old Robert Griffin is quickly becoming the storyline for Baylor football this season, picking up accolades from just about everyone who watches him play (update to add: including being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week). After the Bears broke out for a 51-6 win over Northwestern State a week ago, Griffin led the […]

I’m looking forward to more Baylor football games like Saturday’s 51-6 win over Northwestern State. Coach Art Briles’ offense got a chance to show what it can do when things are clicking on all cylinders, and it was fun; the 45-point margin of victory was the Bears’ largest in almost 20 years, and true freshman […]
Baseball isn’t the only sport in which Baylor alums are playing at the highest level; four Bears are on active NFL rosters as the 2008 season begins tonight. Indianapolis deep snapper Justin Snow is the veteran of the group, having been with the Colts since 2000. Tampa Bay kicker Matt Bryant — the Buccaneers’ Man […]
Preliminary numbers suggest that this fall’s freshman class is the second largest in Baylor history, but the Class of 2012 has really outdone itself in getting ready for football. Over 2,100 freshmen have picked up their jerseys and joined the Baylor Line, making this year’s Line the biggest in history! And they didn’t just get […]
