Baylor goalie sets new Big 12 saves record
Soccer fans, you have three more chances to see one of the best goalkeepers in Big 12 Conference history play in Waco.
Senior Ashley Noah, the Bears’ keeper for the past four seasons, broke former Baylor all-American Dawn Greathouse’s conference record for career saves this weekend against Oklahoma State. In the process, Noah became the first goalie in Big 12 history to record 400 saves in her career.
If the name “Ashley Noah” doesn’t sound familiar to you, it might be because she played as Ashley Holder her first three seasons. The name change came after she got married this summer.
For those wondering about Greathouse’s whereabouts… After graduating from Baylor in 2001, she played professionally for two years before joining the coaching staff at Notre Dame, where she helped lead the Irish to the 2004 national title.
Sic ‘em, Baylor goalkeepers!
