Welcome home, Baylor Family: Recapping Homecoming 2023
Rain tried its best to disrupt Baylor Homecoming 2023, but a little weather can’t stop the Baylor Family from getting together — and Homecoming, as usual, brought back all the memories as thousands of Bears descended upon Waco this past weekend for the annual Baylor Family reunion.
For those who couldn’t make it — or for those who want to relive it — we bring you a look back at the weekend:
The on-campus celebration began early in the week for students, with Monday night’s Homecoming Worship service (presented by Vertical Ministries) and Wednesday night’s Dinner with the Livingstones (featuring free food truck fare for students).

Thursday night featured Mass Meeting, where the story of the Immortal Ten was passed down to a new class of students, and the Bonfire build in preparation for Friday Saturday.
Continued lightning in the area led to the cancellation of Friday night’s outdoor events (Extravaganza, the Pep Rally and Bonfire) — but plenty of fun was still had indoors. From the Class of ’73’s 50th reunion to Homecoming at the Hurd, Singspiration to the Royal & Pure Homecoming Stroll-Off, plus the Collins Open House and the Texas Collection’s and Hankamer School of Business’ centennial celebrations, the celebration of family and fun continued throughout the day.
All weekend long, Pigskin Revue featured the best of Baylor students’ musical, Broadway-style acts from All University Sing.

Saturday morning, the rain thankfully held off as thousands of Wacoans, Baylor alumni & students turned out for the nation’s largest collegiate homecoming parade. This year’s celebration featured more than 100 entries, including student-made floats, balloons, student and local organizations, and more. (Miss the parade? Watch KCEN’s broadcast, learn this year’s float winners, and get an up-close look at all the floats.)

Then it was on to the game, which didn’t turn out the way we had hoped — but was an opportunity for more memory-making for those who endured the downpour to cheer on our Bears.

The celebration concluded Saturday night, as the rain-delayed Bonfire was held on Fountain Mall, enjoyed by students and families alike after the rain finally moved on out.
