Remembering Dr. Pennington & Dr. Hanks as they retire
The end of the spring semester brought with it the retirement of two of Baylor’s best. Two of the university’s Master Teachers, Dr. David Pennington (chemistry) and Dr. Tom Hanks (English) have taught their last classes after a combined 90 years at Baylor.
When the news spread on social media earlier this month, Baylor alumni responded en masse with well wishes and fond memories of their time with the two professors. I’d encourage you to read all the comments on Facebook and Instagram, but here are a few that stood out:
If you felt the same way toward one or both of these professors, please take a moment to share a word or two on this Facebook post, and we’ll do our best to make sure Dr. Hanks and Dr. Pennington see it.
And to our retiring Master Teachers: Thank you for all you’ve done over the years, for your students and for Baylor. We are forever grateful for what you’ve given us.
Sic ’em, Dr. Pennington and Dr. Hanks!
