• At age 94, this Baylor grad enjoys another lifetime ‘first’ at Cactus Bowl

For 60 years, life conspired to keep Eddie Morris, BA ’52, from walking at Commencement and officially receiving his Baylor diploma. Finally — in 2012 — Eddie was able to see that dream come true, as he walked the Ferrell Center stage. (You can read more on that part of his story here.)

Eddie’s children played a big part in helping make that dream a reality four years ago, and on Tuesday, they gave him another “first.” This time, Eddie — who turned 94 earlier this year — got to see his beloved Bears play in a bowl game for the first time. He was among the Baylor faithful in the stands Tuesday night for the 2016 Cactus Bowl as the Bears blew past Boise State, 31-12.

That’s Eddie and one of his sons pictured above, shortly before the game. Given how the Bears jumped to an early lead and really controlled the game from start to finish, it goes without saying that Eddie enjoyed his first bowl game!

    Sic ’em, Eddie!
