• Alum helped make Super Bowl XLV in North Texas a reality

Super Bowl XLV logoIf you’re feeling stressed getting ready to host a Super Bowl party this weekend, consider 2000 Baylor grad Paige Smith’s responsibilities. As part of the Host Committee for Super Bowl XLV, Smith has been responsible for organizing multiple high-level events surrounding the game — part of the festivities that are expected to contribute over $600 million to the North Texas economy.

The director of VIP and sponsor services for this year’s Super Bowl, Smith has spent the past year making sure the game’s sponsors stay happy and helping set up events such as the Kick-Off Concert Series that began all the way back in March. Her efforts led to getting Faith Hill and Sting for concerts leading up to the big game, and her knowledge of both the league (from seven years working the NFL’s entertainment marketing office) and North Texas (having grown up in Brownwood) have been tremendous helps to the Host Committee.

“She understands a lot about how the league operates, and its expectations from Host Committees. We’re benefiting from that expertise,” says Host Committee President and CEO Bill Lively. “And then, she’s very, very bright. She clearly grasps what we’re trying to do in an historic way in developing and selling sponsorships.”

    Sic ’em, Paige!
