• Acoustic Cafe offers Baylor’s singer-songwriters a chance to shine

Twice a semester, Baylor’s Acoustic Cafe offers students a place to share their stories via original music and art. The first Acoustic Cafe of the spring semester was held earlier this month, and Baylor Photography compiled this photo gallery from the event.

Of course, what good is describing a musical showcase without accompanying audio or video? While I don’t have any samples from this month’s show, below is a performance from last fall by sophomore Brin Beaver of an original song, “Fallin,” that will give you a good idea of what each show is like.

Hosted by the Department of Student Activities, Acoustic Cafe offers all BU students a chance to experience their classmates’ musical and artistic talents in a small-venue concert atmosphere. The show also often highlights specific social justice causes in partnership with the office of Service & Learning, the International Justice Mission or other local organizations. In recent history, Acoustic Cafe has showcased Women’s History Month, Justice Week, and missions.
