Student performs National Anthem in D.C. before crowd of more than 20,000
Junior Melissa Solomon received a deeply American honor when she was given the opportunity in mid August to not only sing the national anthem at a Major League Baseball game, but in Washington, D.C., of all places.
Solomon, a choral music/voice major in Baylor’s School of Music, is from nearby McLean, Va., and the timing worked out for her to perform at Nationals Park before a Washington Nationals game in front of a crowd of 22,000 shortly before returning to Baylor to begin her junior year.
Sic ’em, Melissa!
