Debate program finishes the year No. 10 in the nation
Debate was my primary extracurricular activity all through junior high and high school. In fact, my first exposure to Baylor came the summer before I entered eighth grade, when I came to debate camp at Baylor. I returned for debate camp in high school, and my familiarity with campus from those two stays was what led me to apply to Baylor a couple of years later.
Baylor has a long history of success in debate; the list of former Baylor debaters includes Baylor presidents Samuel Palmer Brooks, Pat Neff, William R. White, and Abner McCall and Texas governors Neff, Price Daniel and Ann Richards. This year’s squad continued that success, finishing the spring 10th in the nation (ahead of such traditional debate powers as Harvard, Dartmouth, USC, Georgia and Texas) and No. 1 in the state of Texas. Even better, every member of this year’s team will return next season.
Sic ’em, Baylor debate!
