• Baylor Model UN, MOAS claim top spots at international competitions

Baylor's Model UN (top) and MOAS (bottom) teamsBaylor’s Model United Nations team proved itself to be the top superpower at the National Model United Nations competition earlier this month in New York City.

The Baylor team was named “Outstanding Delegation” — the top honor awarded — and also brought home more than half of the competition’s individual awards. All this at a competition that included 4,000 delegates from nearly 300 colleges and universities across the world.

At the same time, another team was representing Baylor at the Model Organization of American States (MOAS) meeting in Washington, D.C. For the fifth time in Baylor’s nine years of participation, a Baylor student (senior Sam Reed) was elected president for the entire meeting, and the trend will continue next year as senior Renee Sanchez was elected president for next year’s model.
