A snapshot of Baylor’s spring sport success
We’ve talked a lot about Baylor’s basketball success lately, but Baylor’s other sports merit recognition for their recent successes as well. A quick snapshot of where things stand midway through the spring:
* Right now, the Bears have four reigning Big 12 Players of the Week: baseball’s Shaver Hansen, softball’s Whitney Canion, men’s tennis’ Denes Lukacs, and women’s tennis’ Lenka Broosova (pictured).
* Over the weekend, the women’s golf team won its second tournament in a row, while the track and field teams claimed a school-record four relay titles at the Texas Relays in Austin. From Friday to Sunday, Baylor’s five active team sports — baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, and equestrian — combined for nine wins in 10 games.
* Baylor continues to have six spring sports ranked among the top 25 nationally: equestrian at No. 3, women’s tennis at No. 4, baseball and men’s tennis at No. 7, men’s track and field at No. 10, and women’s track and field at No. 20.
Sic ’em, Baylor athletics!
