• Study abroad students’ photos offer a taste of life overseas

“Vineyards and Vengeance” by Carolyn GistAround 800 Baylor students participate each year in study abroad programs; around 250 are in semester- or year-long programs, while the rest go on short-term summer trips.

Each fall, the Center for International Education (which coordinates the study abroad programs as well as assisting international students here at Baylor) sponsors a photo contest in which these students share photos from their overseas travels. An overall Best in Show and the CIE Staff Pick are each honored in addition to first-, second- and third-place winners in three categories (cityscape/landscape, people, and art and architecture).

A look at this year’s winning entries gives a glimpse into what our students see on their trips, as well as a sampling of the eyes for art that can be found on campus.

    Sic ’em, study-abroad students!
