• Baylor grad named new Alamo director

    The Alamo

The Alamo’s new executive director is, naturally, a Baylor Bear. After all, why wouldn’t the state’s most iconic landmark be directed by a graduate of its oldest university?

Earlier this month, Rebecca Bridges Dinnin, BA ’88, was named executive director of the Alamo. In her new role, Dinnin will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Alamo, from fundraising to historic preservation.

Becky Bridges Dinnin“As a native Texan, I cannot imagine a greater honor than leading the Alamo,” Dinnin said. “The Alamo is not only a shrine for all of Texas, but a cultural icon recognized around the world.”

A journalism major at Baylor, the Panhandle native was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Student Foundation, Student Government and the BRH Choir. After graduation, Dinnin earned her MBA from SMU and worked for several different Baptist organizations, including four years as director of communications for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Since 2007, she has served as vice president of image and communications for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

    Sic ’em, Becky!
