• Baylor among nation’s ‘Great Colleges to Work For’ for 5th time in 6 years

2014 Great Colleges To Work For

For the fifth time in six years, Baylor University has been named one of the country’s “Great Colleges to Work For” following a nationwide survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Perhaps more impressively, Baylor made the study’s Honor Roll — the best of the best — for the fourth straight year, as one of just 10 large four-year colleges to make the Honor Roll for 2014.

The Chronicle’s annual study interviewed more than 43,000 faculty and staff members across almost 300 colleges and universities. Just 92 of those made the “Great Colleges to Work For” list, and a mere 42 earned “Honor Roll” distinction.

Baylor was cited for excellence in 11 of 12 categories, including teaching environment, compensation and benefits, confidence in senior leadership, and work/life balance. The Chronicle described Baylor’s “warmly welcoming culture” that allows the university “to provide a transformational education within a caring community.”

It’s no secret that employees who are happy in their jobs perform better; in the university setting, it’s our students who benefit from professors and supporting staff members who appreciate being part of the Baylor family.
