    Year of the Bear book

The 2011-12 athletic year — The Year of the Bear — was clearly the best in Baylor history. At the risk of sounding like marketing copy, the Waco Tribune-Herald really has captured the year in an excellent coffee table book titled, appropriately, Year of the Bear.

The book is available now in the Baylor Bookstore and online from Pediment Publishing or Amazon. The 144-page, full-color printing opens with a foreword from legendary sports writer Dave Campbell, BA ’50, then then uses select Waco Trib articles from the year to tell the story of Baylor football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and other sports. Photos from the Trib and Baylor Photography illustrate the stories beautifully.

I really can’t overstate what a great product this is, and what a perfect keepsake it makes. Get yours online or pick one up next time you’re in Waco (hopefully this weekend!).

Can’t wait to see the sequel next fall after another amazing year!

    Sic ’em, Bears!

[Also still available: Invincible, a coffee table book covering the 2011-12 national champion Lady Bear basketball team. Get yours from Amazon or direct from Baylor Press.]
