AFCA foundation names Hurd its 2009 CEO Coach of the Year
From one Coach of the Year to another… Last month, HP CEO and Chairman Mark Hurd, BBA ’79, was honored as the American Football Coaches Foundation’s CEO Coach of the Year for 2009.
The award, given out by the foundation branch of the American Football Coaches Association, recognizes one business leader each year who exemplifies the outstanding qualities of leadership needed in both athletics and the corporate world. Funds raised through the dinner honoring the Coach of the Year support the AFCF’s education initiatives.
A varsity tennis player during his time at Baylor, Hurd has led HP since 2006. He has remained involved with Baylor, including speaking at Baylor Business Network meetings. This past fall, his family’s generosity was recognized as the Baylor tennis clubhouse was renamed the Hurd Tennis Building.
Sic ’em, Mark Hurd!
