• Baylor MOAS team racks up honors at San Antonio conference

    Baylor MOAS team

We’ve covered Baylor’s Model Organization of American States (MOAS) team more than once on Baylor Proud, but this time they really outdid themselves. At a recent competition in San Antonio, Dr. Joan Supplee’s Baylor team set a new record for awards received, beating out 18 other universities from the U.S. and Mexico to bring home 10 of the top 15 awards.

Sponsored by the Organization of American States, MOAS provides college students across the Western hemisphere the opportunity to role-play the political actions of countries across North and South America, much as Model UN teams re-create the actual United Nations.

At last month’s competition, Baylor students received the Outstanding and Distinguished Delegation Awards as well as six committee awards, the award for Best Committee Chair, and the Outstanding Ambassador Award. (Click here for a list of team members and award winners.)

    Sic ’em, Baylor MOAS!
