• Men’s basketball cracks AP Top 25

Quincy AcyAfter starting the season 6-1, including a win over 14th-ranked Arizona State, the Baylor men’s basketball program has broken into the Associated Press’ Top 25, landing at No. 24 this week.

That ranking is the Bears’ highest since they were ranked 19th in February 1969. Last season, the men spent two weeks at No. 25; this marks the first time the Baylor men have ever been ranked in consecutive seasons.

The Lady Bears, meanwhile, are also 6-1 and ranked 10th in the nation; their lone loss came Saturday, a one-point defeat in the championship game of the Paradise Jam Tournament.

The men will look to defend their ranking Saturday at Washington State; tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net. The women will host St. John’s Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center.

    Sic ’em, Baylor basketball!
