Freshman Manuel Munoz is a talented musician — three times an all-state trumpet player in high school, and one of five trumpeters chosen as a member of the Texas State Jazz Ensemble. His skills led to a Baylor music scholarship, but as he works to further improve his play as a music major, he’s also […]
Freddie Main began volunteering at a local food pantry when he was just five years old. Now a sophomore at Baylor, Main today helps organize the pantry’s annual Christmas project that will provide food and gifts to 170 or more local families and nearly 300 children this winter. Main has spent several weekends this fall […]
As a guy, “decorating my room” in college meant putting up a couple of sports posters. My more industrious friends went as far as hanging an extra shelf on the wall to hold more snacks. We’ve already seen one Baylor dorm room that took it far beyond that. Now comes word that another Baylor student […]
Yesterday was the last day of classes, so things are a little slow around campus as students prepare for final exams (which begin Thursday). Since Thanksgiving, however, things have been anything but slow around Baylor! Winter festivities began on the first day back after Thanksgiving, as Student Activities and the Baylor Interfraternity Council presented “Baylor […]

For a sophomore to receive such an opportunity… Well, now you’re talking unique — and you’re talking Emanuel Gawrieh. As […]
If practice makes perfect, then Baylor Law students are clearly well on their way to starting excellent careers. For the fourth straight year (and the seventh time in 12 years), a team of Baylor Law School students won first place at the annual Mack Kidd Administrative Law Moot Court Competition. The team of Jennifer Salim […]
It’s not unusual for Baylor administrators to receive requests from parents. It is unusual when that request is for a Baylor item that the parent — in this case, Col. Charles Hobaugh, commander of space shuttle Atlantis’ STS-129 mission — can take into space. Hobaugh (pictured) is the father of Baylor junior Stephanie Hobaugh, who […]
In February, the Dallas Morning News profiled high school senior Cody Novak as his basketball team prepared for the state semifinals. Novak, however, was sidelined in the midst of fighting a rare, aggressive form of cancer that developed into a grapefruit-sized tumor on his thigh and threatened to take not only his basketball career, but […]
