Baylor uniforms voted best in college football
Baylor’s football uniforms run the gamut, from the classic gold helmet/green jersey pairing to the “Everyone In Black” special to the now famous “chrome dome.”
That mix of tradition and bling led fans worldwide to vote Baylor football’s wardrobe “college football’s best uniform” in a bracket conducted by Sporting News.
In the 32-team bracket, Baylor defeated North Carolina, Indiana, popular favorite Oregon, ultra-traditional Nebraska and Big 12 foe Oklahoma State to take the title. More than 250,000 individual ballots were cast throughout the competition in declaring the Bears’ uniforms the nation’s best.
“There’s 130 [teams] out there, and guess who’s No. 1? Baylor,” noted head coach Art Briles after results were announced. “If you look out there on the wall, it says ‘Be the Standard.’ We’ve been the standard; we’re setting the tone. We ain’t looking at anybody else; they’re looking at us, and saying ‘Those guys do it the best.'”
Sic ’em, Bears!
