Inside the new-look Kokernot Residence Hall

About a decade ago, Baylor set out to complete major renovations of each of its legacy residence halls. Each would go offline for a year, during which time it would receive a head-to-toe update.
That project is now complete: Penland, North Russell, South Russell, Martin, Collins, Memorial, Alexander, Allen, Dawson, and now Kokernot have all received extensive updates to better serve the next generation of Bears.
The new-look Kokernot Residence Hall was unveiled at the start of the semester, just in time for Move2BU. The renovation was extensive, including updates to all bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas, revamped community spaces (both inside and outside the building), plus a new roof, new landscaping, and more.
Here’s what Kokernot looks like for today’s residents:
Kokernot today is home to more than 150 freshman women of all majors, plus a hall director, resident chaplain, and a faculty-in-residence, each of whom live on the premises, right alongside the students they serve.
Sic ’em, Kokernot!
