Baylor Football season opener to debut a litany of ‘Fan First’ updates

We’re less than a month from Baylor Football’s 2026 home opener (Sept. 12 vs. Prairie View A&M, 7 p.m.) — and fans at McLane will find a host of improvements to the gameday experience this fall.
Those begin even before you leave home:
- The Waco Rush pass offers exclusive ticket offers for select home games to City of Waco residents;
- A host of special gameday experiences are available through Baylor Athletics; and
- An updated BaylorGameday.com has all the info you need to plan your day (parking, promotions, concessions, etc.).
Tailgating updates aim to energize pregame activities, including:
- A more affordable and more flexible tailgating experience;
- A longer, more fan-centered Bear Walk before each game; and
- Free gameday concerts in the Baylor Backyard tailgate area.
Then there’s the in-stadium experience:
- New Growl Towel designs for each game (free to first 5,000 students and to 500 registered attendees at the Baylor Alumni tent; $1 each at Baylor Bookstore kiosks & Sideline Shop);
- Reduced concessions prices on staples like soft drinks, hot dogs and popcorn;
- New signature menu items, such as the Bear Claw (topped with cinnamon and a green-and-gold glaze); and
- Designated stroller parking areas for families with young children.
And special promotions for individual games already include these highlights (with more to come):
- Fans got to choose Baylor’s uniform for the home opener (see the winner here);
- Game two will be a Gold Rush while helmets feature a special decal designed by a McLane Children’s Hospital patient; and
- Game three is a throwback game, with special uniforms and a Bruiser bobblehead giveaway.
“Both growing up and over the past seven years, I was what you are: a fan,” says Baylor Director of Athletics Doug McNamee (BA ’03, MSED ’05). “In this era of college athletics, it seems every constituency is considered a priority except the fans, and that is a mistake. Without your passion, support, and the sacrifice you make to buy tickets and get to games, everything that’s special about college athletics stops. There are plenty of options to spend your time and money on, but you choose to do so with us. As such, our commitment is to put the fans first and never neglect that trust you place on us.”
Now, it’s our turn. Season and single-game tickets are available now; see you at McLane this fall!
Sic ’em, Baylor Football!
