5 famous study spots on Baylor’s campus (and what they look like today)
It’s that time of the year — students are flocking to all corners of campus (and beyond) to prepare for finals. While coffee shops may be full until the semester’s end, these hot spots on campus will also be filled with Bears:
* Armstrong Browning Library — The ABL is one of Baylor’s most serene, picturesque spots, and a notoriously “underrated” study spot. Named after poets Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the library’s stained glass windows, mood lighting, and mandatory quiet zone make it ideal for reflective study.
* Moody Memorial Library — “Club Moody” is a classic Baylor study destination, offering various vibes across its three floors. The bottom garden level, with its open spaces and a lively atmosphere, is ideal for group study sessions. The second floor provides a more balanced setting, offering students a quiet but social space for focused work. Finally, the third floor is perfect for those who want a mandatory silent study space. Each floor offers study rooms, individual desks, whiteboards, and other resources that make Moody a central hub for all types of studying at Baylor.
* Jones Library — Students looking for a quieter, more focused environment may venture down the hallway that connects Baylor’s central libraries from Moody over to Jones. The latter offers a calm, undisturbed space to read, write or research. Jones’ intimate, less-crowded setting makes it ideal for long study sessions where concentration is key. Plus, the surrounding outdoor areas are perfect for when students need a break from studying but still want to stay close to the library.
* Bill Daniel Student Center — The SUB is the heart of student life at Baylor, and one of the best spots for a more social, energetic study session. It’s packed with lounge spaces and plenty of seating options, making it perfect for those who like to be around people while they work. The second and third floors offer quieter study areas, and the proximity to food and drink makes refueling during a long study session easy.
* Baylor Sciences Building — For students in the sciences or anyone who enjoys a modern study environment, the BSB is a great choice. It offers a productive atmosphere perfect for individual study and group work with its spacious atrium, sleek design, and open study areas. Whether working on a biology paper or preparing for a lab exam, the BSB provides the ideal space to focus and collaborate. The building’s multiple dining options offer a great place to recharge after a long study stretch.
Whether you need a quiet corner to reflect, a lively building to meet friends, or a modern, tech-forward building to collaborate in, Baylor’s campus has fantastic study spots. Good luck to all of our Bears out there studying in these spots!
Sic ’em, Bears!
