Baylor fans decked out in green and gold

The addition of so many new schools to the Big 12 — BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF this fall; Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah in 2024 — means Baylor fans have plenty of new places to visit as they cheer on the Bears.

In just a few weeks, Baylor football will visit Orlando and Cincinnati; future years will include trips to Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Houston. Beyond supporting the Bears, such locales offer all kinds of bonus draws: Florida’s theme parks and beaches, Rocky Mountain grandeur, the scenic Southwest, Houston’s world-class dining, arts and entertainment… The list goes on and on.

[In fact, Baylor alumni who live in Provo, Cincinnati, Orlando and Houston offered some suggestions on what to do see in the new Big 12 cities in this recent Baylor Magazine feature.]

But you know what would make each of these places even better? A flood of green and gold!

Good road turnouts help Baylor in more ways than one. Besides helping show our student-athletes some support in what might otherwise be a hostile road environment, strong travel showings can also help Baylor football land better bowl opportunities, as selection committees generally prefer schools that travel well. A sea of green and gold also showcases the Baylor spirit on national television — helping recruit the Bears of tomorrow.

Such trips are incredible memory-makers for the whole family, young and old alike. And there’s nothing sweeter than walking out of an opposing team’s stadium or arena after a big win!

Sic ’em on the road, Baylor Family!
