Whether it’s due to one’s learning style or schedule, for some people, reading news online just doesn’t work. They prefer an audible format — books on tape, podcasts, etc.

If that sounds like you — and if you’re a dedicated Baylor Bear — then these Baylor podcasts are for you:

Baylor Connections — If you take one thing from this list, it should be Baylor Connections. In this weekly podcast, faculty, staff and administrators from across the university (including President Livingstone) talk about what’s happening at Baylor: Research that’s making national headlines, the reasoning behind student programs both old and new, and where Baylor as a whole is headed.

Student Success Stories — This podcast was started by Student Success Initiatives in an effort to equip students for academic success. Each episode includes study strategies, time management tips, recommendations for student organizations, and much more. If you’re new to college or are struggling with a class, give this one a listen during those walks across campus.

Waco History Podcast — Want to learn more about the history of Baylor’s hometown? This podcast is for you. Dr. Stephen Sloan, director of Baylor’s Institute for Oral History, invites guests who share “Waco’s known and unknown past” — from the Waco mammoths to the Chisholm Trail, the 1953 tornado to Waco’s response to 9/11.

Business Review — Hosted by the Hankamer School of Business’ CJ Jackson, this podcast tackles common business topics — such as the challenges women face in IT, how to keep your employees from leaving, and hosting more effective meetings — in easily digestible two-minute bites.

Innovative Business — Innovative Business explores top-tier research conducted by Hankamer School of Business faculty and students and its real-world applicability. Co-hosts Bo Mello and Justin Walker sit down with Baylor business researchers to expand on studies covered in the Baylor Business Review magazine.

Currents in Religion — Produced by the Baylor Department of Religion and Baylor University Press, this podcast hosts conversations with academics, writers and artists to explore some of the most interesting currents in religious studies, with a focus on Christianity.

The Good Neighbear — If you’re looking for deep, thought-provoking podcasts, The Good Neighbear is definitely for you. Created by Better Together BU, each episode features a Baylor student from a unique background, focusing on the ways we can address cultural humility, diversity and inclusion, both on campus and beyond.

Baylor Sports — Chatting Baylor sports has become so popular that we couldn’t name just one podcast about it. If you want to stay on top of all things Baylor Athletics, you’ll want to start with the Sic ‘Em Podcast, hosted by Voice of the Bears John Morris. If that’s not enough, you can also check out podcasts from Our Daily Bears, SicEm365, Bears Illustrated, and The Baylor Lariat.

    Happy podcasting!
