• #BearsOfBaylor — “Fast forward 13 years later… we started dating.”

Him: “Back in 1997. I was a freshman. My first class was Biology class and I sat behind her…”
Her: “You sat next to me, but ok.”
Him [laughing]: “Ok! Next to her! Oops. … We sat next to each other in class, and we didn’t really hang out much.”
Her: “He was all about the social.”
Him: “We saw each other maybe once or twice on campus after that. … I knew she didn’t ‘party,’ so I didn’t want to look bad in front of her. Then we saw each other on campus maybe a couple times that year, and fast forward 13 years later – I’m at a concert in Houston and I see her and I can’t figure out if I know this person. Two hours pass and she turns around, she says, ‘Mario?’ And I say, ‘Hawaii?’ because I knew she lived in Hawaii for a long time, and it clicked when she said my name. We started dating and we were married two years later.”
Her: “We’ve been married four and a half years.”
Him: “Before we got married, before we started dating, I was a fan, but I wasn’t going to campus much and buying t-shirts. But, once we got together, it re-sparked that whole Baylor connection.”
    Her: “We have a brick!”
Him: “We have a brick at the stadium that has our story, crammed into six lines.”
Her: “It has our classroom on our brick.”
Him: “It says ‘Sid Richardson, June 26, 1997. I proposed where a Sid Richardson classroom used to be, where they now have a common area. I gave her a Biology quiz and at the end of the page, there was a question, ‘Will you marry me?’”
Her: “I thought it was a legit Biology quiz. I didn’t see it coming.”
Him: “So it took her like 15 minutes to get through this four-page quiz.”
Her: “I’m extremely competitive, so I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t get this one! I don’t remember!’”
