• Baylor Model UN team wins top honor at international competition

    Model UN

Baylor’s Model United Nations team proved itself to be the top superpower at the National Model United Nations competition held earlier this month in New York City.

Fourteen Baylor students (led by Dr. Rebecca Flavin, faculty advisor) were among the 5,000+ student participants who traveled to NYC from around the world for this competition. The Baylor contingent was assigned to represent Vietnam for the conference, with students role-playing a United Nations-like set-up to talk through such wide-ranging issues as organized crime, renewable energy, cybersecurity, sustainable forests, and terrorism.

When all was said and done, the Baylor team was named overall Outstanding Delegation — the conference’s highest honor! Four of the 14 students — Kate Farley, Megan Rollag, Connor Burns and Joe Yope — were also honored with the competition’s highest individual award.

    Sic ’em, Baylor Model UN!
