• Demand for Baylor football season tickets and tailgating spots at record levels

If you haven’t purchased your Baylor football season tickets or secured your spot for tailgating this fall, now is the time.

With more than a month to go, season ticket sales are up for the fifth straight year, already running 15 percent ahead of last year (and up nearly 50 percent from just four years ago). The almost 15,000 season tickets sold already top the highest total on record, thanks in large part to excitement following last year’s bowl appearance. Add in last year’s average of about 6,500 students per game, and Baylor should be headed toward another record attendance total this fall. Tickets start at just $90 for seven home games, so don’t miss out; click here to order your tickets.

Tailgating at Floyd Casey has grown exponentially in the last three years, as well. In 2009, Baylor installed about 20 spots with cable and electric hookups; those sold out, so the next year, about 50 more spots were added. Those sold out as well, and 50 more spots were installed for 2011. These, too, have sold out, and another waiting list has already begun to form.

That’s not to say there’s no room for more tailgaters; creekside spots and RV parking passes are still available, as well. (Click here for a map and details on all the available options.)

Students, too, will have an increased tailgating presence this year, as Student Activities is coordinating a new area for student organizations as well as a large tent open to all students. To make room for this expanded activity, the student tailgate area was moved to an area next to Snickers Touchdown Alley. (The old student area was then used for the additional stadium cable/electric hookup spots; groups that previously were located next to Touchdown Alley have been accommodated in other tailgating areas.)

Don’t miss out! Join your fellow Bears in showing up early, cheering on the team at March of the Bears, then enjoying the festivities until kickoff each week.

    Sic ’em, Baylor football fans!

[FYI, individual game tickets as well as special Homecoming and Parents Weekend packages that include tickets to Pigskin Revue and/or After Dark will go on sale Aug. 8. Watch for an e-mail that day with details on those offerings.]
