Alumna’s work chosen as iTunes’ Single of the Week
I’m sorry we didn’t get this out sooner, but I just learned that Erin McCarley — a singer/songwriter whose work was featured this past week on Apple’s iTunes Music Store — is a Baylor alumna! Her song “Pony (It’s OK)” was the site’s Single of the Week as we rolled into the new year and is offered as a free download through iTunes. Apparently those who have downloaded it have liked what they’re hearing; McCarley’s album, “Love, Save the Empty” has been among the top 10 most purchased albums on iTunes for the past week.
McCarley, a 2001 graduate, married another Baylor Bear and now lives in Nashville. Her website lists tour dates this month in six different states, so check her out if she’s playing near you, or pick up her album (on iTunes now, or in stores tomorrow).
[Jan. 6 update: Erin will be performing tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman (10:30 p.m. CT, CBS).]
Sic ’em, Erin!
