• Alum reaches out to students overseas at Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving in EdinburghThough Thanksgiving is behind us now (and Christmas is barely more than week away!), I wanted to share this story I had relayed to me about the Baylor family working together.

Obviously it is cost-prohibitive for most students who are in study abroad programs to come home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. But Amy Buros and Michael Regan, business majors participating in a Baylor study abroad program in Scotland this fall, did not have to celebrate Thanksgiving alone, thanks to a Baylor alum living in Edinburgh!

Brittany Byrd, a 2006 graduate who now calls Scotland home, invited the students to join her family for Thanksgiving dinner. A simple gesture — what’s two more people when you’ve already got a large gathering? — but one I’m sure was appreciated by the students so far from home. For more on how Baylor alums overseas are staying connected and helping one another out, check out Going Global from the most recent issue of Baylor Magazine or visit the Baylor Global Network website.

    Sic ’em, Baylor family!
