• Class of 2008 class gift: a new scholarship fund

When you leave Baylor University, how will you be remembered?

For years, Baylor’s graduating seniors have contributed towards a class gift to benefit other students after they are gone. Recent class gifts have led to the re-landscaping of gardens around Burleson Quadrangle and the creation of a prayer garden next to Marrs McLean Gymnasium. My own class was one of many that contributed towards the creation of the Immortal 10 Memorial.

The class of 2008 is taking a slightly different approach by creating an endowed scholarship fund to help future deserving students attend Baylor. “The best thing about our endowed scholarship is that it will give back directly to Baylor students. Scholarship money will come from the interest generated from the gift, while the principal amount will remain untouched,” says Senior Class President David Hao. “In time, this gift has the potential to become one of Baylor’s largest endowed scholarships.”
