Defense keys Baylor football win
Baylor’s improved running game got most of the attention Saturday after the Bears’ 34-21 win at Buffalo, but in my book, the player of the game had to be sophomore safety Jordan Lake.
Lake pulled down two interceptions and forced two fumbles Saturday, setting up the Bears’ first 10 points plus a third-quarter field goal. No Bear had forced four turnovers in a game since at least 1992, when the NCAA began recognizing fumbles forced as an official statistic. Those numbers make Lake an excellent candidate for the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
Sic ’em, Jordan and the Baylor defense!
