• Second Bear advances on ‘American Idol’

Last week, Baylor senior Savion Wright aced his American Idol audition to earn a ticket to Hollywood; last night, we learned that another Baylor Bear will join him there!

Bryan Watt, BM ’08, performed on last night’s show, and like Wright, earned good reviews from all three judges after his rendition of Carrie Underwood’s “So Small.” [Watch his audition below.]

After graduating from Baylor’s School of Music with a degree in church music and vocal performance, Watt earned his master’s in music at Belmont University. In addition to his performing career, he is executive director of Inside Out Nation, an evangelistic teaching and worship ministry, and co-founder of Project Backyard, a service project initiative aimed at providing regular opportunities for Christians to serve in their own cities and towns.

American Idol will continue to cover auditions for three more episodes before we will likely see Wright and Watt in Hollywood during the first week of February. You can follow Watt’s progress on Twitter (@bwatt) and Facebook.

    Sic ’em, Bryan!
