• Recent grads give their Baylor experience high marks

    Baylor students

We brag a lot about Baylor on this blog; after all, our name is “BaylorProud.” We believe that Baylor is a truly special place, where excellent teaching and advanced research takes place within a caring, Christ-focused community.

Of course, we also believe you should be able to back up your bragging points. That’s one reason why Baylor regularly surveys its newest graduates about their Baylor experience. And — as you might expect — the Class of 2015 couldn’t say enough great things about their alma mater.

Here are just a few of the noteworthy findings:

95% of students were pleased with the overall quality of instruction at Baylor. That means all the new programs Baylor has created recently, all the excellent teachers hired, and all the long hours professors spend helping students and researching pressing world issues are worth it.

One respondent put it perfectly: “I am not entirely sure how you decide on hiring professors at Baylor, but you guys are doing something right! … The people that form the foundation of the university are the reason why a school thrives or dies, and Baylor is thriving because of your emphasis on well-rounded faculty members. Thank you for that.”

More than 3/4 of graduating seniors were happy with the service opportunities at Baylor. And there’s good reason for that. Throughout their 4(+) years here, students have hundreds of opportunities to serve the local community and the world through programs like Steppin’ Out, Baylor Missions, and nearly every student organization.

Speaking of student organizations, 93% of these seniors were pleased with Baylor’s student clubs and organizations. And lest you think they spent their time in college goofing around with friends, 91% of them said they were able to balance academics and extracurricular activities. The majority of these students also felt a sense of belonging and community on campus.

Are there places for Baylor to improve? Of course. But overall, it seems that the life of a Baylor student is an enviable one.

    Sic ’em, Bears!
