Live coverage will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday on KWBU-TV in Waco, with encore airings Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. The parade will also be streamed live online at www.baylor.edu/homecoming. (If you can’t wait, you can always go back and watch the 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 parades online right now, or view this slideshow from last year’s Homecoming events.) …o the value of saving. As the stock market continues to yo-yo (already down 400 points this morning as I write this), if you’re interested in learning more about what’s going on (as were the hundreds in attendance here), you can view streaming video of the discussion and downloadable slides from all five presentations here. As I soaked in the presentations, it struck me how fortunate Baylor is to have so many savvy professors all across campus gui…
…SLC). The Class of 2012’s total of 3,062 students trails only the Class of 2009’s freshman total; in 2005, Baylor welcomed 3,168 freshmen. The academic quality and diversity came through as projected, too. The freshman class’ average SAT score of 1210 does indeed mark the third straight year that the incoming students’ score has been over 1200. Minority enrollment is also a record at 31 percent. The large incoming class means Baylor’s student bod…

…ut it’s Wariner who is earning the most press. He will again compete in the 400 meters and the 4×400-meter relay after winning gold medals in both events at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Track stars don’t get quite the notoriety of some other sports’ athletes, but do tend to get incredible coverage every four years when the Olympics roll around, starting with practically round-the-clock coverage on the NBC family of stations. In Wariner’s case, not…
…le to run track for the Bears this spring, just for fun — but only after football’s spring practice ended in early April. Head track and field coach Todd Harbour was certainly glad to see Griffin join the program. Even with limited training time, Griffin brought home the bronze medal in the 400-meter hurdles at last week’s NCAA Outdoor Championships. I, for one, look forward to seeing what Griffin (and the rest of Briles’ players) can do on the fi…
When Baylor first got involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life last fall, the University was challenged to raise $25,000 for the cause. When the donations were totaled up from April’s student-organized event, the inaugural All University Baylor Relay for Life had raised over $100,000. Nationwide, more than 4,000 similar events collected a total of over $400 million for cancer research. With a theme of “Bear Down: All Paws for a…
