Forrest Frank named ‘New Artist of the Year’ at 2024 Dove Awards
It’s been quite a year for Forrest Frank (BBA ’17):
- Hit No. 1 on iTunes worldwide chart (for all genres)
- Five of iTunes’ top 100 Christian songs for 2024
- Chosen as the soundtrack for Baylor’s 2024-25 commercial (our favorite honor, obviously)
Now, the Baylor grad has been recognized yet again, having won the 2024 Dove Award for New Artist of the Year!
“I feel so undeserving, because this is just all for Him, and everything I do is for the Lord,” Frank said on stage. “And for whatever reason, He’s chosen to give me some songs that have related to some people… I’m just so thankful to be here, and I want to continue to give Jesus glory, because my name will fade away just like all of ours one day, but at the end of time, and for all of eternity, one name will remain — and that’s the name of Jesus Christ.”

Frank also won “Best Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year” for “Good Day,” his biggest hit to date. He performed it and “No Longer Bound” on stage during the Dove Awards ceremony.
And Frank wasn’t the only Baylor Bear to perform or win at this year’s Dove Awards. Christian music legend David Crowder closed out the night with a performance of his chart-topping hit “Grave Robber,” which was named “Best Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year.”
Sic ’em, Bears in Christian music!
