Baylor ranked among the world’s best universities in two recent studies

Baylor ranks among the top 20% of universities in the world, according to two recent rankings.

Yes, you read that right. In the first ranking, U.S. News — perhaps best known for its annual evaluation of America’s top colleges and universities — looked around the globe at more than 2,000 universities, and placed Baylor among the top 20% on the planet.

In this study, U.S. News compared institutions worldwide based on their academic research and international reputation. And while Baylor remains focused on students closer to home (just 3% of undergrads last year came from outside the U.S.), it’s nice to know word is spreading far and wide about what’s happening here in Waco.

Baylor also excels in another recent worldwide ranking — this one, of the universities commanding the most global attention. Once again, BU stands out among the top 20% of universities in the world, based on news mentions, public interest, and online metrics analyzed by American Caldwell (a leading higher ed market research firm).

If you like these sorts of stats, you can also add a host of others for Baylor: No. 4 nationally for First-Year Experience, top 20% of national universities, top 10 nationally in Fulbright qualifiers, top 75 colleges for best leaders… And the list goes on.

Of course, rankings don’t tell the whole story about Baylor — you can’t put a number on Baylor’s Christian faith, after all — but since so many people use them for comparing schools, it’s nice to see Baylor well-recognized, both at home and around the world.
