Among the many ways to measure the impact of a college education is a practical accounting: Are students finding opportunities to work or further their education after graduation?

At Baylor, the answer is a resounding “yes.”

With the most recent numbers just released (covering Summer 2024 through Spring 2025), Baylor’s placement rate is 92%, and its success rate is 94% — numbers well above the national average, and emblematic of steady growth in this area at BU. (Placement rate refers to students earning jobs in their field of study, while success rate includes employment of any sort, graduate school, and internships.) While we don’t yet have full national numbers, rates in the 90s place Baylor in elite territory.

How do we know these numbers? Each semester, graduating students are surveyed about their post-graduation plans. At Baylor, 99% of graduates have responded, giving Baylor a nearly-complete knowledge rate. That’s a big deal in higher education, where the national knowledge rate is only about 60%.

Baylor’s Career Center plays a pivotal role in helping students take successful next steps after graduation, providing Bears with personalized resources to help them at every stop of the job search, from internships to careers. (Think job interviewing skills, resume building, career fairs, and more.)

Virtually every college graduate can remember the feelings of excitement and nervousness while pursuing a career in the field of their calling. At Baylor, the statistics show both the excellence of our students and the stewardship of faculty and staff, like those in the Career Center — a potent combination to finding good jobs and academic slots quickly.
