Baylor Connections returns — in a new video format
Baylor is filled with great stories to tell, and for the last eight years, Baylor Connections has been a key place where Bears share their stories in their own voices. After nearly 400 audio episodes, Baylor Connections has expanded — now offering both audio and video formats!
The first video episode featured President Livingstone, sharing her insights on Baylor’s global impact. That episode was recorded live in the Hurd Welcome Center; future episodes will be recorded at various campus locations. Longtime Connections host Derek Smith (MA ’05) — who you might know as the PA announcer at McLane Stadium or the radio voice of Baylor women’s basketball and baseball — returns to host Season Nine.
Dr. Livingstone’s season-debut episode was followed by a conversation on Baylor’s water research with biology professor Thad Scott and environmental science professor Bryan Brooks, then an episode on Baylor’s transformational student life with Vice President for Student Life Sharra Hynes. Future topics include human flourishing research, innovative engineering, ethics and more — each highlighting a different aspect of Baylor’s impact on higher ed and the world around us.
Audio listeners can still enjoy the conversations on their devices as normal (via Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other services), with the video element providing new opportunities to enjoy the episodes via the Baylor YouTube channel.
Sic ’em, Baylor Connections!
