  • Football’s big win over Oklahoma caps off incredible sports weekend in Waco

Fans on the field after Baylor football beat Oklahoma

Well THAT was certainly a fun weekend.

From hanging a national championship banner in the Ferrell Center rafters, to sharing our campus with millions of viewers on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, to beating No. 4-ranked Oklahoma on the field at McLane Stadium — yeah, that’s worth reliving.

Let’s start with Friday night, when head coach Scott Drew’s first national title banner was unveiled and the Bears received their national championship rings:

Later that night, students camped out at McLane Stadium so they’d be ready for the early morning show — and both the Baylor men’s and women’s basketball coaching staffs dropped by with free pizza:

    They brought the goods 🍕🍕🍕

Big thanks to @BUDREW & @NickiCollen for stopping by the student campout tonight! #BigNoonKickoff is just hours away.

Saturday morning, an incredible crowd showed the world what Baylor spirit looks like as FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show aired live from McLane Stadium’s South Plaza. Special guests included Scott Drew and America’s favorite Baylor Bears, Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Then the Bears went out and backed up all the show, soundly beating the heavily favored Sooners, 27-14, to improve to 8-2 on the season. Fans rushed the field after the game to celebrate with their Bears, giving the national broadcast an incredible visual sign-off.
