ESPN's College GameDay cast outside McLane Stadium

ESPN’s College GameDay returns to the Baylor campus this Saturday. Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and the rest of the gang will be broadcasting live from just outside McLane Stadium between 8-11 a.m.

Baylor Family: We need you in that crowd Saturday, showing your love for BU. The GameDay broadcast offers a three-hour nationwide window to show almost two million viewers who Baylor is — beyond headlines and memes to what the Baylor community really stands for. Our students, our traditions, our accomplishments, our mission, and our city will all be in the spotlight as we get to show Baylor being what Baylor is supposed to be.

President Livingstone put it this way: “Through ESPN’s presence on our campus, we will be able to welcome fans and newcomers to Baylor through the front door of Baylor Athletics. Even better, we will be able to take them inside our great university and city to show off everything we have to offer, and to highlight what makes Baylor and Waco such great places to study, discover, live and work.”

Coach Rhule echoed those thoughts in his Monday press conference: “People all across the country see that GameDay could’ve gone anywhere, and they chose to come here… I don’t want this to just be about our football program; I want it to be about the university and also about Waco — what a great place to live, what a great place to raise a family, what a great place to be.”

So, be there. Be there to represent Baylor. Be there to show your support for this university. Be there to cheer on the 9-0 Baylor Bears. And be there to help us show the country what we’re all about here in Waco.

    Sic ’em, Baylor Family!

College GameDay event details: The audience area will open to fans Saturday at 5 a.m., as initial ESPN and ABC segments begin as early as 6:15 before the main broadcast starts at 8 a.m. McLane Stadium parking lots 3 and 4 will be open to the public from 5 a.m.-noon Saturday. Those lots will likely be your best option Saturday morning, as the Umphrey Bridge will close from 8 a.m. until about 2:30 p.m., except for a brief window around 11 a.m. See more details here.

Students: Click here for info on getting your GameDay pit tickets (the best placement) and for details/guidelines on camping out Friday night at McLane.

Everyone: Tickets for the game are sold out (for both the general public and students), but a few seats are still available on Stubhub. Given the sellout crowd, make sure to allow extra time for getting through security so you can be in your seat by kickoff.
