Earlier this fall, Baylor officially announced its plans to pursue Research 1/Tier 1 (R1/T1) recognition — with the goal of filling a unique niche in higher education as a preeminent research university that is unambiguously Christian.

Yesterday, the university took its message public to celebrate the great research being done at Baylor, using social media, billboards and other advertising to call attention to the impactful work being done by Baylor faculty and students:

At the border, @LoriBaker2001 has worked to identify undocumented immigrants’ remains, giving families a chance to grieve.

Roughly 300 digital billboards in Dallas, Houston and Waco (both outdoor and at DFW, IAH and Hobby airports) called attention to Baylor’s research efforts:

A host of schools/colleges and departments across the university also took to social media to share some of the research being done at Baylor:

Grateful to be a part of an institution that celebrates research and new discoveries. We are especially thankful to Dr.s Wakefield and Lehnus and @BaylorS3 students for their strategic partnership and insights! #SicEm | #NationalResearchAdministratorDay pic.twitter.com/YILOIMKwVW

Baylor professors from a wide range of disciplines also shared the message, from their personal points of view:

#Baylor Baylor supports my work on race, culture, politics, and faith. It is research that can change the way people see contemporary issues–and sometimes, the way they see themselves. Today we’re celebrating the work @Baylor researchers do. So @BaylorProud to be one of them. pic.twitter.com/Lo56adiCYB

Special shout out to all the special people @Baylor who make research happen through their administrative talents.

If this has you interested in learning even more about the important work being done at BU, make sure you’re following Baylor on social media and that you’re subscribed to the Baylor Connections podcast; guests this semester are sharing about their research, whether that’s developing virtues in teenagers or better materials for cars and airplanes.

    Sic ’em, Baylor researchers!
