#BearsOfBaylor — “I’m very passionate about joining the military.”
“I’m very passionate about joining the military. My dad was in the Air Force, and I’ve seen all of the benefits that he’s been able to have and how he’s passed them along to us.
“I moved around a lot, and I got to meet a lot of different people. I’m a very social person, so me being able to see all these new people and all these new things was cool to me. Then he would be out in his uniform and people would say ‘Thank you for your service.’ I thought that was always so cool. Whenever people would talk about Veterans Day, I would think of my dad like, ‘Wow, he’s a part of this big group of people who are helping!’
“The best thing going on in my life is just starting college, honestly. … My mom was like, ‘Bye! I’ll miss you, but, bye!’ My dad, my dad took it pretty hard. He was very upset about me leaving, but at the same time, ‘I’m proud. I know I have to let you go.’ But me and him are super-duper close. He was like, ‘You’re my little girl…’ He took it kind of hard.
“I’m in ROTC, which is why I’m wearing all of this — it’s required of us. But I have picked up his habits with things. I’m always places early. Out of all of my friends, I’m the neatest out of everybody. Everything has a place.”
