• #BearsOfBaylor — “Having a dog’s a lot of fun, ’cause they’re so loyal and loving…”

“I grew up with dogs all my life, so it was really hard starting at Baylor and not having any contact with dogs at all. And then later on, a girl in my class told me that a friend of hers was fostering a dog, but she couldn’t bring him home for Christmas, and she needed someone to look after him for Christmas break. I went ahead and offered, ’cause free dog for Christmas break! He stayed with me the entire Christmas break, and I just really fell in love with him and decided to go ahead and adopt him.

“If it’s your first time ever getting a dog, you’re going to definitely want to get advice from people. See what dog is your type. You don’t want to just jump in and get a dog that can be a lot for you to handle. I’ve seen people in college who have gotten dogs, like a husky or a really big, energetic dog, and they’re not ready to handle that kind of commitment, so they have to end up giving it away… Having a dog’s a lot of fun, ’cause they’re so loyal and loving… You just have to make sure you’re actually ready for a dog, ’cause they deserve that. They deserve to be looked after by someone who will take care of them and love them.”
