• #BearsOfBaylor — “It is juggling.”

Him: “I’m a student [doctoral candidate] here, and I work here. People talk about balance, and I’ve gotten over that idea. It is juggling.”

Her: “Juggling the kids is real hard. We’re just getting used to that. … I just had a baby, so stuff I’m dealing with is mostly just trying to raise three kids and do it while he’s not home very much, as he’s got school and work and everything else.”

Him: “It’s just a lot of transitions. Adding a new baby. Moving to a new place. Starting a new program. Starting a new job. Living in a new town. Going to a new church. … It’s really tough. I guess the key is keeping track of my time. Just being very disciplined with how I spend my time. … One of the ways we feel successful, or at least I feel successful, is being home the same times each day if possible, so that regardless of what is going on outside the home, I know I’m going to be there for breakfast 90% of the time or more, and know I’m going to be home for dinner 90% of the time or more. That’s really helpful in just creating a secure home environment for the kids. They’re doing better, and if [my wife] is doing well, then it makes it a lot easier to do all the different things.”
