Baylor Homecoming 2014: A Look Back
Baylor Homecoming took on a new look this year, as — for the first time in nearly 80 years — the entire slate of festivities took place on the Baylor campus.
For many Homecoming attendees, this marked the first time they laid eyes on McLane Stadium. The 1974 football team, which experienced the “Miracle on the Brazos” 40 years ago, took part in the rededication of the statue of their beloved coach Grant Teaff. Baylor fans successfully striped McLane as we beat Kansas, 60-14.
And that was just Saturday afternoon!
Before the game, Kappa Omega Tau, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Phi Kappa Chi, Beta Theta Pi, and Kappa Chi Alpha received awards for their floats in the largest and oldest homecoming in the nation — now featured in a Smithsonian traveling exhibit! And Friday night, students and alumni mixed at Singspiration, Extravaganza, Pigskin and Bonfire – built by freshmen after a long night at Freshman Mass Meeting.
If you missed any of the Homecoming weekend fun (or want to relive it), don’t worry; Baylor social media had it covered it, from Facebook, and Instagram to Twitter (both @Baylor and @BaylorProud) and Pinterest.
