• RG3 set to make pro debut Sunday, one of 12 Bears in the NFL

Robert Griffin III, BA ’10, makes his Redskins debut Sunday as Washington faces the New Orleans Saints. RG3 will be the eighth Baylor quarterback ever to start a game in the NFL, and the first since Cody Carlson, BBA ’86, started five games for the Houston Oilers in 1994.

Griffin is one of 10 Bears on NFL active rosters for this weekend’s opening action, joined by Philip Blake, BSED ’11 (Broncos), Matt Bryant, BSED ’98 (Falcons), Terrance Ganaway, BSED ’10 (Rams), Josh Gordon (Browns), Jason Smith, BSED ’08 (Jets), J.D. Walton, BA ’09 (Broncos), Danny Watkins (Eagles), Jonathan Weeks, BSED ’07 (Texans) and Kendall Wright (Titans). And that’s not including David Gettis (Panthers) and Phil Taylor, BSED ’11 (Browns), who are both out with injuries.

The former BU QB is also one of 11 NFL rookies being followed for an online series from NFL Films and Gatorade titled “Everything to Prove.” New episodes will be posted on NFL.com throughout the season; here’s a preview, featuring the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner attempting to narrate a bus tour through his new hometown.

    Sic ’em, RG3!
