• ‘Rise Up’ theme calls for action from student-athletes and fans alike

The theme for Baylor Football 2010 is “Rise Up.” Just as the Baylor Nation rose up to help keep the Big 12 together this summer, Baylor football recognizes the need to rise up and earn that elusive bowl bid this fall. In a series of well-received commercials, members of the team describe how they will rise up this year. For instance, here’s senior Danny Watkins (a likely NFL pick next spring) telling his story:

Linebacker Antonio Johnson (a product of Waco High School) and head coach Art Briles have also been featured so far, with more commercials yet to come.

Of course, we as fans aren’t done with our part, either. We need to pack the stands each week to show our support for Baylor — not only to the student-athletes, but to those who will be making the determination about future conference realignment. To show that Baylor can and will succeed on the gridiron, and that the Baylor family is there to support them in extraordinary numbers. Have you got your Baylor football tickets yet? If so, I’ll see you at Floyd Casey Stadium! If not, then order today!

    Sic ’em, Bears!
